About Us

PHARMACY BILOBA

The name Biloba comes from Ginkgo Biloba, the tree of life. The tree that survived the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Its indestructibility, life force and medicinal powers gave it the nickname: tree of hope.

As students, we were immediately fascinated by the medicinal properties of this tree. We learned that the extract from its leaves promotes blood flow to the brain, enhancing concentration. In higher doses, it's also utilized to stimulate long-term memory and slow down brain aging.

At its core, Biloba is about improving both physical and mental well-being, a power shared by both the plant itself and our pharmacies. Our mission is clear: to provide expert advice and high-quality care to promote physical and mental well-being.

We are two friends who studied Pharmaceutical Sciences together at KU Leuven. While our friendship may not be as old as the existence of the Ginkgo Biloba tree, we have built a strong personal and professional bond through our shared interests. Customer friendliness is paramount to us. We prioritize a warm and friendly welcome combined with professional, personalized advice. Helping people is what brings us satisfaction in our job.

We value affordable, sustainable, and professional healthcare, and we are convinced that the pharmacist plays a crucial role in achieving this. We are committed to providing you with the necessary information and medically substantiated explanations, always delivered with a smile.

OUR TEAM

Caroline Cassiman – Head Pharmacist

Caroline always looked up to her grandmother, who was also a pharmacist. After a year in Sweden, she decided to take up pharmaceutical studies. She graduated in 2011 and was hired full-time by Bernadette after her internship. She lives with her husband Filip in Leuven.

Julie Decroos – Head Pharmacist

As Bernadette's daughter, Julie inherited a passion for pharmacy from an early age. She graduated as a pharmacist from KUL in 2012. In 2019, she and Caroline took over from Bernadette and acquired a second pharmacy in Kessel-Lo. Julie is married to Tom, and they have two sons, Lou and Jerome.

Bernadette Depré – Pharmacist- Adjunct

Since 1987, Bernadette managed the pharmacy, and in 2019, she handed it over to Caroline and Julie. However, she continues to work in the pharmacy. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Patrik, their children, and grandchildren.

Pascale Claassens – Pharmacist Assistant

Pascale previously worked as a nurse and transitioned to become a pharmacy assistant. She is married to Jan, and they have two daughters, Margo and Natalie.

Charlotte Cassiman – Pharmacy Assistant

Charlotte, Caroline's sister and Julie's friend, always admired their profession. After completing her pharmacy assistant training, she eagerly joined their team. She lives in Leuven with her partner Sven and their daughter Isa.
